On a snowy evening in Calgary at the Scarboro United Church, David talks a little on the purpose of the group’s path of self-realization and awakening. The community, which has existed for a little while, is one in which people can support one another in their awakenings. Through practice and revealing to one another areas in which fear and doubt may surface in our communication with one another, people will help get us out of our “stories” and tapped into a much higher plane of thought. Around 40 years ago, David started on his spiritual journey. Before this, questions related to inner pain and confused identity did surface and addiction at one point was a solution. David talks of early experiences with yoga, the new testament and other things. In his mid-twenties, recovering from addiction, he is In the mid-90s, he finds a teacher and spent 14 years under his guidance. Last fall, after participating in an enlightenment intensive activity, connections started to be made.
