What is Kapok?
Kapok refers both to the tree and to the fiber it produces, which is also known as silk cotton or Java cotton. The hair-like fibers that surround the kapok seeds are commonly used as a stuffing.
Kapok tree, also known as Ceiba tree, is deciduous tree that belongs to the mallow family. Kapok trees grow in tropical rain forests.
Kapok is woven much the same way as natural cotton.
